L'avant guerre - The pre-war

On August 14th, he claimed his first victories (two Fw 190) with the P-38-J "L2-B" "Scat III" in the sector of Montmirail. 11 days later, he attacked with his wingman a formation of some 50 Me Bf 109 ; despite impacts on his aircraft, Olds shot down 2 aircrafts and one 3rd on the way home. He then became an ace. Once, Olds shot down a Me Bf 109 whereas his engines weren't running after having released his external tanks and before switching on internal tank.
